Thailand experienced a 42% increase in international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) travelers in 2024, with visitor numbers reaching 1.16 million. This brings the country close to its pre-pandemic record of 1.2 million MICE visitors in 2019. The top source markets included China, India, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, and the U.S., alongside strong European contributions from Germany, the UK, and France.
Among the MICE sectors, conventions saw the highest growth in 2024, with delegate numbers nearly tripling compared to 2023. Incentive travel, exhibitions, and meetings also recorded steady improvements, showcasing Thailand’s appeal as a global destination for business events.
Looking to 2025, Thailand is set to host several large-scale international events, with delegate numbers ranging from 5,000 to 10,000. Key events include Money 20/20 Asia in April, attracting fintech professionals, and the World Diabetes Congress, also in April, which expects 10,000 attendees, marking its debut in Southeast Asia.
May will bring additional highlights, such as the Asia Pacific Life Insurance Congress, with 10,000 participants, and THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2025, a food and technology trade show anticipated to draw 85,000 visitors. These events further establish Thailand as a leading hub for international MICE activities.
TCEB President Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya expressed gratitude to overseas travelers for their confidence in Thailand’s MICE offerings. He highlighted the bureau’s goal of attracting 1.4 million visitors in 2025 by continuing to deliver high value and meeting growing demands for return on investment and experience.
