Serbia’s non-alignment with the sanctions against Russia is determined by the republic’s interests, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said, TASS reports on March 22.

“Our country respects the principles of international law, that is, the territorial integrity and sovereignty of every state, including Ukraine ,” Dacic said. “ Serbia does not impose sanctions against Russia because of its interests, which, among other things, include the protection of sovereignty and territorial integrity . ”

Dadic noted that Serbia will continue the path of integration into the European Union. To do this, she agrees to normalize relations with Kosovo.

Earlier, EU Special Representative for the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajcak clarified that the implementation of the “Agreement on the path to the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia” is not a guarantee of Serbia’s admission to the EU.

Recall that Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic said in an address to the nation that Serbia supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but will not impose sanctions against the Russian Federation.
